Montessori Holiday Lessons
The children were delighted to find festive Holiday Work on the shelves when they returned from the Thanksgiving Break. They enjoyed practicing their Practical Life skills while pouring and sorting jingle bells, matching sparkling fruit, and decorating trees. It’s a magical time of year and our Work Time was accompanied by the enchanting sounds of Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite.”
Celebrating Different Holidays
The children practiced their audience etiquette as they watched and listened to the stories of Ramadan, Diwali, Santa Lucia, Hanukkah, Los Posada, Kwanza, the First Nations’ tradition of Winter Solstice, and Christmas. Everyone actively participated in the performance and some of our schoolmates were even lucky enough to volunteer for a role on the stage.
