Primary Program
Our Montessori Primary Program is a three-year educational program. Ideally, a child will join our multi-aged class when they are three, often after completing our Pre-Primary program. Each child is guided with individual and group lessons and grows and learns at their own pace.
The Montessori materials at Montessori Peace School include hands-on exercises in the areas of Practical Life, Language, Writing, Sensorial, and Mathematics. In addition, children explore History, Geography, Social Studies, Science, and Art. Montessori Peace School also offers yoga, peace education, Spanish, gardening, and weekly “Music Together” classes as part of the curriculum.
It is to the child’s maximum developmental benefit (intellectually, socially, and empathetically to complete the full cycle of the Montessori educational experience. The full-day Kindergarten program allows an in-depth time for reading, mathematics, and cultural studies. During the third year, the Kindergarten child is given many leadership opportunities and becomes a role model in the multi-age classroom. These leadership roles strengthen the child’s feelings of self-confidence as they graduate and prepare to enter elementary school.
